Study Time Calculator
Enter total hours needed and days available to see a daily study plan.
How much should I study each day?
Revision plans work when a backlog of hours is spread across the days you still have. Enter total study hours needed, days until the exam, how many days per week you will study, and a preferred session length. The tool shows average hours per calendar day, how many sessions that implies, weekly hours at your study-day cadence, and what happens to the daily load if you keep one buffer day free. It does not predict grades — only schedule math. Pair with final grade needed for mark targets and GPA for cumulative averages.
Worked example
40 hours across 14 days ≈ 2.9 h/day. At 1.5 h sessions ≈ 1.9 sessions/day. Studying 6 days/week ≈ 17 h/week. If one day is off, load rises to about 3.1 h/day over 13 days.
Limits and assumptions
Planning aid only — not a grade guarantee. Ignores fatigue, topic difficulty and diminishing returns from ultra-long days.
Frequently asked questions
Should total hours include past revision?
Enter only what you still need to cover before the exam.
What is a sensible session length?
Many students use 45–90 minutes with breaks. Match the field to how you actually focus.
Why show a buffer-day figure?
Exams slip and illness happens. Knowing the catch-up pace avoids last-minute overload.
Can I plan two subjects?
Run the tool per subject (or sum hours into one backlog) so daily totals stay realistic.
